Ulm, "Schwörwoche" and "Fischerstechen" Festivals
The week-long "Schwörwoche" festival hosts a range of traditional events. On the Sunday evening, the Danube becomes a river of light when 10.000 lanterns are placed on the water. And every four years, the famous "Fischerstechen" festival is held – a tournament on the water with 16 duelling pairs who represent figures from Ulm’s history. Music associations from Ulm perform for free on the "Fischerplätzle". (www.ulm.de)
Wäschenbeuren, Light Festival
The Wäschenbeuren music association welcomes guests: Decorated with tea lights and fairy lights, the town becomes a magical setting for a music festival that ends with a firework display.
